CIVIL WAR FLAP HOLSTER FOR LARGE REVOLVERS

$450.00 ON HOLD

Quantity Available: 1

Item Code: 1179-469

This is a black leather holster made to accommodate the Colt, Remington, and other revolvers. The leather still shows a slight “profile” of a revolver barrel and loading lever. A Colt .44 caliber “Army” model fits into this.

The holster “pocket” measures 10” along its front edge. Holster is made of black bridle leather. The flap and belt loop are all of one piece. The flap is closed by passing it through a narrow horizontal strap on the front side. Belt loop is made by two parallel cuts in the back side; approximately 2” long cuts. Only a small portion of the leather plug remains sewn in at the bottom of the holster. Stitching along back seam is complete and unbroken.

In overall decent condition, this holster shows heavy use. Leather remains supple and soft; surface finish overall shows heavy crazing and several “folds”. Some loss of the surface finish, especially around the flap and front edge of holster body. There is decorative tooling visible: twisted rope pattern along edges and at least four medium-sized (0.45”) stars scattered overall.

This is a good, flap holster that would accommodate a large Civil War revolver.  [sr] [ph:m/L]
