Heavy leather holster retains perfect form. Made under contract to hold the M1911 .45 caliber pistol. This would have originally been russet brown color. Holsters that were left in the US inventory after WW2 were dyed black per the new regulations in the 1950s.
Tooled leather flap with large “U.S.” embossed. Brass finial, copper rivets, no leg strap, wire hooks. Stitching remains tight and unbroken. Stamped on back, “BOYT / -42-”.
