Iron mounted and silver inlaid gooseneck spurs with silver inlay on the heel bands and shanks. The inlay on the bands is engraved with a zig-zag surface. They also have vaquero style heel chains and one, brown leather, doe skin lined, over the boot strap remaining. These spurs have large, 3” rowels, with very well executed, relief filed, decoration throughout. Two hand-made iron jingle-bobs are in place beside each rowel. They are 4 ½” wide and approximately 8” overall length.
The most unique feature is the outside of each spur is decorated with solid silver Mexican Republic period coins. The rowel washer on each is a 1892/93-10 centavo coin. The outside heel band on each are decorated with three domed 1893/94-5 centavo coins. The iron patina is a dark undisturbed color with the silver all being grey tarnish. A great Old Spanish Trading Company design that is reminiscent of the cowboy and early western days. [stp][ph:L]
