W. Ludolph was one of the manufacturers of Reichsmarine and later Kriegsmarine navigational equipment. This sextant was made by W. Ludolph in Wesermunde, Germany. The Wesermunde stamp dates the sextant between 1924 to 1946 during which time Bremenhaven was included as part of Wesermunde while under Prussian jurisdiction.
Based on the actual design of the sexton, it would date from the 1920’s to the mid 1930’s. It is in serviceable condition with all lenses intact and parts moving freely. It is missing the box and the two shipping pins that screw in the back. It is unknown if the “ADLER M” mark was stamped pre-1945 or a post-war stamp, since the “M” style is slightly different compared to other Kriegsmarine stamps. [ad] [ph:L]
