Ivory case has silver clasp, shield shaped cartouche, and a rivet around which six celluloid pages labeled with the days of the week from Monday to Saturday fan out for writing reminders. These were commonly used by Civil War officers.
Case fastens the clasp, which is functional. There are engravings on the cartouche but they appear to be decorative in nature rather than letters or initials.
Very nice condition, minor soiling. Measures 2 3/8” x 1 ¼”. [ld][ph:L]
