Stunning woman’s hat, c.1880s, made of black silk chiffon elaborately gathered and ruched over a wire frame. The left side of the hat is accented with a deep pink silk rose and black ostrich feathers. Black grosgrain ribbon ties. Overall diameter 12" overall. Crown 6¼" diameter, 2" high in front, tapering to 4" high in back. Brim 3" wide in front, tapering to 4" wide in back. Ribbon ties 1¾" wide, 30” long. Condition very good-excellent.
