Unusual 1890s woman’s brown shaggy beaver broad brimmed hat. Low crown, with brim turned up on each side and in the back. Low crown lined in thin black silk, label Fabrique par Excellance. The brim is trimmed with clusters of cotton flowers in shades of ivory, tan, and lilac with green and purple velvet leaves. A large purple ostrich feather accents the front of the brim.
Measures 17" overall diameter, 5½" brim. Crown 6” diameter, 2" deep. Condition fair.
