This large embroidered ivory silk piano shawl, from the Texas Civil War Museum, is lavishly embellished with a deep fringe. The square center section has rounded corners and is heavily embroidered in a design of flowers and leaves. The embroidery thread has a very high sheen, making the design stand out against the matte finish of the background fabric. The edge of the shawl finished with a 6" deep band of interlaced twisted silk threads that end in a 12" deep fringe. Measurements: 54" center; 90" square overall including interlaced band and fringe. Condition: Very good. All embroidery intact with no pulls or loose threads; border and fringe intact with no breaks. [cs][ph:L]
Note: The shawl was photographed folded in half due to its size.
