A cone-shaped turned drinking horn made of horn, with a simple, narrow, flat iron hook riveted at the top edge to serve as a belt clip. This measures about 8-1/2” long, with prominent tip, and is about 2-3/8 “ wide at the top, outer edge to outer edge. This has a relatively uniform taper, though not entirely so, and was turned with decorative, narrow incised lines cut in groups of two to six, spaced out from top to bottom, though with the last 1-1/4” being a narrower, solid tip, with slight rounded point. This has a smooth surface, light brown near the edte, then shading into a cream color, before transitioning into a darker brown toward the tip. Some very fine, minor chipping along the drinking edge. See our other listings for a similar horn, made of wood, and certainly by the same maker. [sr][ph:L]
