Superb gold Civil War sash buckle. The spread-winged eagle is at the top, with two crossed American flags in its talons. Patriotic shield is at the bottom, with artillery pieces on each side. On the sides of buckle are figures of a ship and soldier with a horse. Images are bordered with decorative scrollwork. Reverse has mounts for a pin, but pin is not present.
