A mixed lot of late 19th century jewelry and trimming from the Texas Civil War Museum, consisting of the following:

  • A 40" strand of small oval beads, possibly from a melon, that have dyed a dark reddish-brown. The beads are not broken and the string is solid, but the clasps were either removed or never added.
  • A 26" strand of 1 mm seed beads in butterscotch and white, strung in a spiral pattern; plus a matching bracelet 9" bracelet length. Each strand is ¼" in diameter. Both strands are complete and intact, but the clasps were either removed or never added.
  • A set of 6 beaded dress ornaments, made from faceted bronze glass beads in several sizes. Each ornament has a semi-circular top from which depends three long oval pendants in an openwork woven pattern, with five strands of beaded fringe descending from each pendant. There is 7th ornament in damaged condition with beads that could be used to repair any of the other ornaments. Overall condition of these ornaments is good, with only a few missing beads.
  • A length of black beaded trimming, constructed of black glass (French jet) bugle beads in two different sizes. The trimming is 9¾" long and 1" wide and is in good condition. It could be applied to a dress or used to make a bracelet.
