A men’s 18 size Illinois Watch Company, Springfield, Illinois 17 jewel full plate watch. Serial number 2,113,899 with estimated production in 1909. Nickel Damascus finished works. Lever set movement. Housed in a Brooklyn Watch Company “Windsor” grade, 20-year gold filled hunter case.
The watch winds correctly and runs but, was not tested for accuracy. The outer covers are floral type engraved, that have mostly worn away, with a few areas of base metal showing through. The time-side cover-lifter is weak and no longer springs open the lid when activated by the push button stem.
The porcelain face has a small chip at the “9 o’clock” position on the second-hand sweep dial. A total model estimated production run of 18,906 units. Comes with a blue velvet carrying case. [stp][ph:L]
