Tortoise shell handle is in very nice condition. The colors are strong and the shell surface is in excellent condition with only one very tiny hardly noticeable chip on one edge. One side has a nice silver escutcheon.
Blade base is deeply stamped “MANHATTAN CUTTLERY CO. SHEFFIELD” in three lines. Blade is very sharp as evidence by the now bleeding slash on this writer’s finger!
Great for a Civil War period soldier’s display… but keep away from idiots! [AD] [PH:L]
