A full standing studio view of a middle-aged fireman or policeman. Dark double breasted frock coat with large badge on his left breast, wearing visored cap with a single digit numeral in a wreath on the front, hands at his sides, dark trousers, a waist belt with round buckle and what seems to be the ribbed handle of a billy club attached to his belt just visible through the crook of his arm at right. The image is oval, about 5-1/2” by 7-1/2” mounted on an 8” by 10” card mount with oval thick and thin gilt borderlines. Minor stains lower right, not affecting the figure. [sr][ph:L]
