CDV album has brown leatherette cover with embossed design on the front and back. Cover is in fair condition with moderate wear all over, especially on the corners, edges and spine. Cover is unattached from pages at the spine, making the pages separated at the center. Pages are tightly bound together, except for at the center.
Album has a printed vellum lining inside of front and back covers. Title page reads, "PHOTOGRAPHS / BOSTON, ROBERTS BROTHERS". All pages are present. The edges of the pages have gold gilt which has retained its brightness. The album closes with two decorative gold clasps which are stlll firmly attached.
Album contains 45 images. There is space for 48 images. There is a variety of men, women and children of all ages. Men are in civilian attire. These images are mostly of individuals, but some have family members posed together. Backmarks are from Wisconsin.
Album measures 5" by 6.25" by 2".
This would be a wonderful addition for a collector of civilian images. [sl]
