Image is a view of the grave of Confederate General Thomas J. “Stonewall” Jackson in Lexington, Virginia’s Oak Grove Cemetery. The view shows the Jackson plot surrounded by a wrought iron fence. The camera is a little closer to the fence surrounding the plot and instead of getting all three stones it only captures two. Visible on the larger of the two stones is “GEN. THOS. J. JACKSON.”
The clarity and contrast are good. Mount is slightly trimmed. Paper is good. Bottom center is marked WILEY LEXINGTON, VA.
Reverse is blank but for collector information in pencil.
Image is from the collection of the late William A. Turner. [jet] [ph:L]
