Oval collage. Twelve small women's images encircle a central image of R.E. Lee. Known as the "War-Time Girls of Fincastle" this Carte-de-Visite is believed to be of residents of Fincastle, Virginia. The Lee portrait is one of the bust views made by Plecker in the summer of 1866. Top of mount has been trimmed. Photographer's backmark, A. H. Plecker of Salem, Virginia back mark. [jet] [ph:L]
