Image is a bust view lithograph of the leader of the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia, the world-famous Robert E. Lee in uniform.

Clarity and contrast are excellent. Mount is good but the paper has scattered foxing along the right edge and top. Bottom center of the mount has a printed caption of “GEN. R. E. LEE. C. S. A.”.

Reverse has a period ink inscription that reads ‘PRESENTED BY LIEUT. GEO. W. HARRISSON 1st VA CAVALRY UNDER GEN. MOSBY C.S.A. AUG. 20, 1868.” There is also some collector information in pencil at bottom.

From the collection of the late William A. Turner.  [AD] [ph:L]
