Seated outdoor view of Rev. Slason. Visible in the background are tents and a couple women in a wooded area. Photo is clear with very good contrast. Some light damage to bottom edge of mount. No photographer's backmark. Period purple ink names and notations on back. Among them, "love one another" and "...from Mr. Slason, Minister of the gospel, preached in Tinmouth [N.H.] 3 years."
Jame Lawrence Slason (1814 - 1898). A Methodist preacher who served New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire. Married four times with three children overall. Buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Rutland, Vermont. [jet] [ph:L]
