CDV of Philetus Horace Kyes in Confederate uniform. Full standing studio view. Image is faded. Image and mount are soiled overall. No photographer's backmark. Pencil identification on back.
Kyes enlisted on September 29, 1861 at Camp Moore, LA. He was in Company C, 16th Louisiana Infantry. Promoted 1st Sergeant. Commissioned 2nd Lieutenant, October 24, 1861. Present at Shiloh, then resigned June 22, 1862.
Died in 1901 and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Marshall, Texas.
