Image shows the monument to the 77th New York Volunteer Infantry which stands in Congress Park in Saratoga Springs, New York. It was erected in 1875 by veterans of the regiment.
Paper has some light foxing scattered here and there. Mount has light surface dirt.
Reverse lists all the battles the 77th New York took part in as well as the dates of the various actions.
The 77th New York was organized in Saratoga Springs on November 23, 1861. They served in the 4th and 6th Corps of the Army of the Potomac seeing action from the Peninsula Campaign in 1862 to the Appomattox Campaign in 1865. The regiment suffered substantial losses at the Wilderness, Spotsylvania, Winchester and Cedar Creek. They also suffered moderate casualties at Antietam and Fredericksburg. [ad] [ph:L]
