A fine cdv photograph of Union officer. View shows McClure in a standing pose in uniform. He wears a single-breasted frock with captain’s shoulder straps, sash, and sword belt. He holds his officer’s kepi in his right hand at his side and a sword hangs from his belt on left. Very good clarity and contrast. Typical ruled mount is untrimmed. Pencil identification on reverse. Photographer’s back mark is “Fredericks & Co. … New York.”

Enlisted on 10/21/1862 as a Captain and commissioned into Quartermaster's Department. Promoted to Major by brevet on 3/13/1865. He was Mustered Out on 6/20/1865.  [jet][ph:L]
