Photo of Fitzhugh Lee in Confederate uniform. Waist up view of him with his fine, long beard. Image remains clear with lighter contrast around edges. Lightly written on bottom of mount is “Gen. Fitzhugh Lee.” Mount is complete and untrimmed. No visible back mark; large brown glue stain covers any that may have been present.

Fitzhugh "Fitz" Lee (November 19, 1835 – April 28, 1905) was a Confederate cavalry general in the American Civil War, the 40th Governor of Virginia, diplomat, and United States Army general in the Spanish–American War. He was the son of Sydney Smith Lee, a captain in the Confederate States Navy, and the nephew of Robert E. Lee. [jet][ph:L]
