This is an oft-published view showing the home of the then President-elect Abraham Lincoln in Springfield, Illinois. A man and boy are posed on the corner of 8th Street and East Capitol Ave while another man and boy pose in the front yard of the house. They can be seen just below the window on the far-right corner of the house. It is known that the pair is Lincoln and one of his young sons.
Image is clear with good contrast and mounted to a white card with double gold borders. Corners and edges are sharp, with very minor denting. Mount trimmed along right edge. The reverse shows some scattered staining and a credit logo at center reading “C. A. M. TABER, No. 99 State St., Schenectady, N.Y.” Light penciling reads “650-“ and “IEP124”. Overall measurements are 3.75” x 2.4”.
Quite the CDV for the discerning collector. [cm][ph:L]
