This Carte-de-Visite is in a nice condition. It features a seated General U.S. Grant and is surrounded by a commonly seen double gold border (with a very small area of border loss at center, upper right). All edges and corners remain sharp.
The reverse shows a penciled label reading “Lieut. Gen. U.S. Grant” and a photographer studio stamp with text that says “Published by E & H. T. ANTHONY, / 501 Broadway, New York. / MANUFACTURERS / of the best / PHOTOGRAPHIC ALBUMS”. A subtle, uniform area of darkening is noted along the lower edge of the reverse side. Overall measurements are 2.45” x 4”.
An excellent image of the legendary man, in a good condition. [cm] [ph:L]
