This Carte-de-Visite image features a seated view of the famed General Thomas – known for his string of commendable performances as a commander in the Western Theater of the Civil War. The image is mounted to a common card with double gold line bordering. All edges and corners remain sharp.
The reverse is marked in pencil “George Henry Thomas / (1816 – 1870)” and a photographer back mark reads “Published by E & H.T. ANTHONY, 501 Broadway, New York. / MANUFACTURERS / of the best / PHOTOGRAPHIC ALBUMS”. A small note in pencil under the mark reads “Thomas”. Overall measurements are 2.4” x 4”.
