This Carte-de-Visite is in good condition and features a casually seated General Judson Kilpatrick. The image is mounted to a common card with double gold line bordering and a plain front. The image and card retain strong corners and edges, with nearly imperceptible pinholes at the center of each corner, and miniscule paper separation at the upper corners.
The reverse is clean, with a small section of very subtle discoloration along the right edge. A stylized photographer’s back mark logo reads “BOGARDUS / PHOTOGRAPHER / 363 Broadway Cor: Franklin St. / NEW YORK.” Overall measurements are 2.45” x 3.9”.
An uncommonly seen image subject, this CDV is ideal for the well-rounded Civil War collection. [cm] [ph:L]
