This more uncommonly seen style of Lincoln Carte-de-Visite is a period image of a pre-existing lithograph or engraving of the President. The image is mounted to a card with a light blue lined border pattern and the original slightly off-center cutting. The image is in good condition, with sharp edges and corners, while the card shows minor corner wear. Imperfections across the image face are minor and most appear to have been part of the original photography process, as minimal staining and damage are noted.
The reverse is wholly unmarked and remains clean. Two very small areas of rolling are noted along the upper edge. Overall measurements are 2.5” x 4.1”.
A very interesting and desirable depiction of Lincoln from the early-mid Civil War period. [cm] [ph:L]
