This CDV features C. L. Motley and is mounted to common style of card with fine gold border patterning. Motley’s name is penciled in at the bottom edge, and a spot of edge wear is noted.
The reverse is clean with Motley’s name in scripted pencil and a commercial stamp reading “E. ANTHONY / 501 Broadway / New York / From PHOTOGRAPHIC NEGATIVE / in / BRADY’S / National Portrait Gallery.”
An interesting piece, tied to the political history of the Civil War. [cm] [ph:L]
