Seated studio view wearing military vest and frock. Image is clear with good contrast. Corners of mount have been trimmed. Photographer's backmark, Anderson & Turner, New Orleans. Revenue stamp and pencil notes on back.

Ben Bridge enlisted on March 6, 1862 as a Private in the 5th Company of the Washington Artillery of New Orleans. He had a couple of trips to a hospital for disease but was otherwise present until surrendered to General Canby on May 4, 1865.

He is buried in the Army of Tennessee Tomb at Metairie Cemetery in New Orleans.
