Nice carte de visite (CDV) photograph of Captain Stoddard in uniform. This is a bust view of him with captain’s shoulder boards just visible. Image is clear. Photo is pasted to a typical ruled mount that was trimmed on upper corners and across the bottom. Signed in faded ink on front, “Yours truly Capt A Stoddard / Ins. Genl -- 3rd Div, 17th A.C.” A second, crisp and clear signature on back, reads “Capt A. Stoddard A.A. Ins. Genl of 7th Div 17th A.C. To C.H. Brown [???]. A printed photographer’s backmark is present from Peplow & Balch in Memphis. Overall condition remains good with just some light foxing on the image.
