CDV of a soldier posed between a chair and the post of a balustrade on which he leans. The bearded subject wears a dark frock coat devoid of any insignia with dark cloth covered buttons and matching dark trousers. In his hand he holds a large dark slouch hat with a military hat cord.
The hat cord shows the subject is a soldier and the lack of insignia on the coat and the cloth covered buttons leads one to believe the subject might be an Army chaplain.
Reverse has a light photographer’s imprint for C. D. FREDRICKS & CO…NEW YORK. [ad]
