This pair of CDV’s show a man and a woman, possibly husband and wife, posed in the same way, with one arm resting on the top of the same high-backed chair. Both were also taken by the same photographer.
The woman wears a solid dark dress with white undersleeves. The bodice has a placket down the front with seven buttons that are flower shaped. The sleeves and cuffs have a ruffled decoration. The woman also wears a dark bowtie with a white border, a dark sash with watch chain attached.
Image has excellent clarity and contrast. Mount and paper have only light surface dirt. Mount corners are clipped.
Reverse has photographer’s mark for TYLER…EASTON, PA.
The photo of the gentleman shows him wearing a dark loose-fitting commercial sack coat. The coat could be military. Two brass buttons are visible on the front and there are three brass buttons on the cuff. Close inspection of the one visible cuff shows a line of dark piping similar to that found on a military shell jacket or frock coat. He wears light colored trousers with a small check pattern, a light vest of a matching pattern with brass buttons, white shirt and bowtie. In his hand he holds a dark slouch hat devoid of any embellishments.
Image has excellent clarity and contrast. Paper and mount are good.
Reverse has photographer’s imprint for TYLER…EASTON, PA. [ad] [ph:L]
