CDV shows a Union Private seated in a chair with one leg crossed over the other. He wears an open dark frock coat and a matching military vest with light trousers.
Image is clear with very good contrast. Mount and paper are in nice condition with only light surface dirt and a small amount of minor edge wear.
Reverse has photographer’s imprint for N. L. STONE’S GALLERY, CANTON, N.Y. There is also an orange cancelled 2 cent revenue tax stamp. Bottom of reverse has a blurb about ordering additional copies of the image. There is also a modern notation that reads “6 CORPS 63” but there is nothing to indicate the subject was a 6th Corps member. [ad] [ph:L]
