Seated studio view of an African-American child. Child in long gown and shawl. Clear image with good contrast. Mount corners have been trimmed. Photographer’s backmark, Whitney & Kendig, Batavia, IL.

Interestingly, the child’s photo is pasted over an existing image on the card. A small portion of the original photo just visible at the bottom edge of the images.
