This CDV shows a well outfitted man that is believed to be an Army Chaplain. He wears a single-breasted frock with cloth covered buttons. He also wears shoulder straps, a red sash, a tall hat with wreath insignia, and white gauntlets. Sash is tinted red and insignias are tinted with gold making it impossible to see details. Image is very clear with fine contrast. Mount remains in good condition. Photographer's backmark, Dr. Mills, Penn Yan, NY.
This older gentleman surely looks as though he could put the fear of God into you with one of his sermons. [jet] [ph:L]
