A very nice CDV of a Confederate officer in uniform. This is a full-standing studio view of what must be a Louisiana officer wearing a very French-inspired early war uniform. Notice the epaulettes and aiguillette. The beautiful uniform is accompanied by a white belt and a gorget. He poses with sword and ornate kepi. A very small Infantry insignia (horn) is just visible on the kepi. Image is clear but slightly light in contrast. There is no photographer’s backmark.

From the late William Turner collection.  [jet] [ph:L]
