Waist up seated view of a bearded Federal private posed with his hands in his lap seated by a cloth covered table which holds his dark slouch hat with hate cord. The subject wears a dark frockcoat buttoned to the throat. On his left chest is a circular white disc with a dark 2nd Corps trefoil at center.
Contrast and clarity are excellent. Mount and paper are good.
Reverse has no photographer’s imprint but the top has a period pencil date of “NOV. 13, 1864.” There is also some collector information at bottom. [ad] [ph:L]
