The subject of this CDV is posed standing with his arms crossed. He wears a dark frockcoat with dark but discernable 1st sergeant chevrons and light trousers with a wide dark leg stripe. At his waist is his sash and belt with a Pattern 1840 NCO sword attached.
Clarity and contrast are excellent. Paper and mount have light surface dirt.
Reverse has a photographer’s imprint for G. F. CHILD… WASHINGTON, D.C. [ad] [ph:L]
