Image is of a gray bearded soldier in a dark frock coat or shell jacket, closed at the throat, with a lighter colored vest beneath.

Contrast and clarity are very good. Mount corners have been rounded and the image is slightly toned.

Reverse has no photographer’s imprint but does have a period pencil notation at bottom that looks to read “LT. LOANMONT ALBUM.” There is also some collector information in pencil.
