Item Code: 766-1885

CDV is a chest up view of an unidentified Confederate major. He wears a light gray frock coat open to reveal a matching vest which is also open to reveal a white shirt and dark bowtie. Frock coat and vest have gold gilt buttons and the frock coat also has a blue collar with a single gold star showing his rank. Skin tone is excellent and the subject’s hair shows a black and gray mix.

The clarity of the image and the brightness of the colors are excellent, however the paper surface does show some light surface wear from rubbing.

Reverse has a photographer’s imprint for T. F. SALTSMAN… NASHVILLE, TENN.

Image is from a Tennessee photo album.  [ad] [ph:L]
