Nice photograph of an unidentified Confederate officer. This is a chest-up view of the man in uniform. Although there is no collar rank, the coat is double-breasted and the buttons, although gilted, are seen to be three-piece buttons. Image is clean and clear with good contrast.
Plain mount remains in good, untrimmed condition. There are remains of a revenue stamp on the back. No photographer's backmark.
From the late William Turner collection. [jet] [PH:L]
