Image shows a sailor posed with one hand resting on a low table. He wears dark flat hat, a dark jumper with tie and matching trousers.

Contrast and clarity are very good as are the mount and paper.

Reverse has some collector information in pencil along with a canceled blue 2 cent tax stamp dating the image between August 1864 and August 1866.    [ad][ph:L]
