CDV is of a bearded sailor posed with one hand in his pocket and the other leaning on a writing table. The subject wears a dark double-breasted short jacket with a bibbed collar, light trousers and light vest. On the left sleeve of his coat is a very small insignia of two crossed axes.

Contrast and clarity are very good. Top mount corners are clipped. Paper has some minor staining along the right side.

Reverse is blank.    [ad][ph:L]
