CDV is of an unknown young man posed in front of a painted backdrop of a tall window and balcony overlooking a garden. The subject rests one hand on an empty high-backed chair. He wears a dark civilian frock coat with black felt collar, matching dark vest and trousers. By his side he holds a dark kepi. Image is reminiscent of others we have seen showing men at the time of their enlistment in the army.

Contrast and clarity are good. Mount is good while the paper does show some brown discolorations along the left edge.

Reverse is blank but for some collector information in moder pencil.  [ad][ph:L]
