Full standing studio image of unidentified Union officer in uniform. The man, with a very full beard, is in full uniform with single breasted frock coat with officer’s shoulder straps, gauntlets, and trousers with thin stripe down the leg. He wears a sash and sword belt with 1851 eagle buckle. Hanging from his hip is likely a M1840 Medical staff sword. He is resting his right hand on a pedestal where his kepi with insignia and a revolver are placed.
Clear image with good contrast. Plain mount. No backmark. [jet] [ph:L]
