This is a very fine image of a Union medical officer in uniform. Full standing studio view. The man wears single-breasted nine-button frock with medical shoulder straps, sash, waist belt, and holds well-adorned hat in one hand and a medical staff sword in the other.
Image is clean and clear with fine contrast. Plain mount is untrimmed and remains clean.
Photographer’s backmark is T.M.V. Doughty, Winsted, CT. A two-cent revenue stamp is also on the back. A nice photo. [jet][ph:L]
