A very nice CDV of a Lt. Colonel in uniform. This is a full-standing studio view of what must be a Louisiana officer wearing a very French-inspired early war uniform. The collar insignia (2 stars) is visible. The unusual uniform has fancy-braided cuffs, a white belt, and the officer wears a gorget. He poses with sword and ornate kepi. Image is clear with good contrast. The mount appears to be trimmed across the top. There is no photographer’s backmark.
