Image is a vignette bust view of a rather long haired gentleman wearing a high-collared double-breasted coat of a light color. The artist has tinted the subject’s cheeks with rose and darkened his hair, mustache and eyebrows. He has also gone over the collar insignia a bit making it difficult to tell if the subject is a 1st lieutenant or captain.

Contrast and clarity are good. Paper and mount are clean however the left edge of the image has a small burn mark.

Reverse has a photographer’s imprint for BARCALOW… N.Y. There is also some collector information in pencil.
