This Carte de Visite (CDV) photograph shows a seated view of a uniformed drummer and his drum from a New York regiment.
This young man wears a single-breasted New York state-issued coat with shoulder tabs and decorative trim. He holds a shako with pom-pom in his lap. At his feet sits his drum. It is a wonderfully decorated drum with New York state seal and “Excelsior” clearly visible; just no regimental number filled in. One drum stick sits on the drum head.
Image is clear with good contrast and pasted to a typical ruled mount. The mount complete and untrimmed. Blank back.
A very nice New York drummer boy photo. [jet] [ph:L]
